Seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to work with a new program, assisting Geriatricians with patient care and covering weekend hours. Geriatric and wound care experience preferred.
Serves as a leader in primary and acute health care, combining the roles of health care provider, mentor, educator, researcher, and administrator. Conducts, supervises, orders and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies. Teaches and counsels individuals, families and groups. May practice in ambulatory or acute care settings. QUALIFICATIO! NS Education
Minimum Masterâs Degree in Nursing or Bache! lor Science Nursing (BSN) and previous Nurse Practitioner clinical experience.
Preferred Clinical Focus Degree Credentials/Licensure
Minimum Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan . Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of Michigan .
Preferred Specialty certification in area of specialty. Related Experience
Minimum Two years experience as a NP or five years practice in Nursing.
Preferred Three years experience in specialty area. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with multiple consumers including patients, medical staff, health care providers in the hospital and community, families, and the public. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to make quality, independent decisions. Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Specialty Life Support (i.e., ACLS, PALS, NRP.). Physical/Mental
Minimu! m Frequently lift, stand, and walk. Occasionally bend, stoop, and twist. Occasionally position and lift patients. Ability to perform continuously detailed tasks with frequent interruptions and work reprioritization. Ability to auscultate body sounds, hear speech, speak loudly and softly; utilize near-far vision, depth perception, and color distinction; and distinguish hot and cold surfaces, textures, and vibrations. Requires fine motor skills.Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions. Computer Competency
Minimum Shows how to use (through a competency assessment) a standard desktop and windows based computer system, including a basic understanding of e-mail, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job. WORKING CONDITIONS
