The Executive Assistant to the Dean of Undergraduate Education manages all of the administrative support for the dean, including heavy calendaring, coordinating group meetings, planning events, making travel arrangements, processing reimbursements, editing, and organizing correspondence and other support documents. The incumbent must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and tactfully with diverse constituencies, most importantly with the deans, assistant deans, divisional departments and their support staff, as well as members of the Chancellor's Office and other leadership offices. The incumbent must be able to multitask, and occasionally respond to urgent requests for information and assistance. The assistant must be able to work independently to determine the relative importance between essential and non-essential communication prior to forwarding information to the dean. The assistant needs to synthesize, both orally and in writing, information for appropriate action or referral. They also must research and present relevant data and background material for divisional projects. This position also provides administrative assistance to the Office of the Deans under the supervision of the Operations Manager. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this position.
