Head of Food Service


 

Job Summary: Performs skilled work in the preparation and serving of high quality meals on schedule; manages the food service program in accordance with state regulations and school district policies, procedures, methods.Performance Requirements: Prepares, cooks, and serves meals as scheduled.Plans menus to meet nutritional and financial objectives and according to students preferences. Menus are planned monthly, and available to customers in advance.Is responsible for keeping food service production, storage, and service areas clean, which includes sweeping floor and washing utensils, tables, floors, walls, and equipment.4.Operates equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.5.Purchases all food and supplies according to district policies.6.Maintains proper inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment.7.Maintains high standards of food preparation, sanitation, and safety.8.Cooperates with principal and teachers to promote the educational values of the program for better health and nutrition.9.Attends district and state workshops, conferences, and meetings to stay abreast of any new regulations or requirements.10.Consults with the principal concerning policies, procedures, and operational conditions.11.Prepares all required reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.12.Submits an annual report on the food service program to the principal.13.Presents reports, general information, and otherwise discusses school food service programs at school board, faculty, public and other meetings.14.Complies with any other reasonable request by the administration.Supervision: 1.Reports to principal or business manager, as appropriate.2.Supervises assistants.
