Under the direction of the Service Learning Manger (or Chief Operating Officer), the Service Learning Coordinator will lead weekend and evening programs the engage families and teens in volunteering, learning and dialoguing around important community needs, with the goal of instilling a love of volunteering that follows youth throughout their life. A Generation SERVE AmeriCorps Member in this position is someone who has an interest in teaching, community engagement, volunteering, advocacy, and families. You are well organized and love to work with groups. In this position, you will be able to learn about local non-profits, curriculum creation, and group management. This is a 32 hour position with evening and weekend hours required. This is a school-year position with an option to extend through the summer months (July/August). This location requires a total service commitment of 1200 hours.

Member Duties : Prepare materials for each volunteer activity Lead a lesson and activity in a service area Mirror for parents how to address sensitive topics with their children Enter data and review volunteer sessions Mentor families and teens through Generation SERVE’s pathway Deliver volunteer projects to partner organizaitons Maintain program materials Communicate with parents Work collaboratively with Generation SERVE staff to meet program goals and deadlines
