Communications Officer
(min. 32 hours. for 6 months with possibility for extension)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven communications officer, who is passionate about creating a more regenerative world and motivated to support our Development and Communications team to get our story across to a diverse pool of audiences through inspiring events and creative content.
You will be joining Development and Communications team, which consists of the Marketing & Communications, Fund mobilization and Policy teams. You will be working directly with the Marketing & Communications team, consisting of the Communications Manager, Content Lead, Content Creator and Development & Communications (Events & PR) Project Manager.
Your responsibilities:
- Supporting the team in implementing the new brand identity in existing and new communication materials/channels to increase brand awareness and ensure brand consistency;
- Responsible for managing design and copywriting processes for specific projects;
- Supporting with event management processes;
- Supporting with media and PR work, for example, occasionally supporting with writing press releases, media monitoring, composing media lists via our PR tool, etc.;
- Supporting creative ideation and content production (basic writing and design work) for Commonland’s digital channels (social, website, newsletter) in coordination with the Content Creator and Content Lead;
- Supporting the team in project management, market and content research, and team development/structures, etc

Our Ideal Candidate:
- Has a Bachelor and/or Master's degree in any relevant field of study – whether social sciences and humanities, environmental studies, or other. You do not have to have studied Marketing, Communications, or Business Studies!
- Has 1-2 years of working experience in a dynamic and professional organization in communications – preferably an international organization.
- Has excellent English language skills - both speaking and writing; additional languages are a plus;
- Experience using mainstream professional digital tools – notably Microsoft Office suite. Preferably some experience with common project management tools – like Asana, Monday.com, Trello, etc.;
- Graphic design, videography and/or motion graphics skills are a plus (even if only experience working with Canva), but not required;
- Is passionate and knowledgeable about sustainability and/or landscape restoration, and has some understanding of the key debates around climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental degradation, etc.;
- Good project management skills, with an eye for detail but able to oversee multiple activities at once;
- Is a team player and likes working collaboratively;
- Is enthusiastic and motivated to work in a purpose-driven, international environment;
- You are eligible to work in the Netherlands - and able to move if you are not currently based here.
