Interim Physicians has a locums opportunity for a board certified Internal Medicine physician to serve as a Hospitalist at a facility in northwes! t Michigan. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications required.
Hospitalist Job Details
The coverage is needed in May, June, July and August. The locums physician will be covering call for the Emergency Department for "unassigned patients" plus weekend coverage for all Internal Medicine patients. When on call for the weekend, the physician would cover all internal medicine patients, Internists cover about 80% of admissions, and with an average daily census of 17-18 patients it means generally handling 10-15 patients per day on weekends call is scheduled.
+ 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. (handoff of patients prior to start and end)
+ Patient population mix: 65% geriatric and 35% adult
+ Ventilator management, stress tests, pulmonary function tests and EKGs required
