Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance for Dr. Stachecki, internist and pediatrician.
Duties:
- Welco! mes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; provide examination gowns and drapes; help them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arrange examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; review and/or record medical history; take vital signs; confirm purpose of visit or treatment.
- Help doctor during examinations; prepare laboratory specimens; perform basic laboratory tests on the premises; dispose of contaminated supplies; sterilize medical instruments; administer medications on the premises; authorize drug refills as directed; telephone prescriptions to pharmacies; draw blood; take electrocardiograms; remove sutures; change dressings.
- Educate patients by providing medication and diet information and instruc! tions
- Complete records by recording patient examinati! on, treatment, and test results.
- Record billing information of services rendered; complete insurance forms; respond to insurance and other third-party inquiries.
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; verifying receipt.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance.
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations; assist with patient centered medical home.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Previous experience preferred. Medical Assistant certification required.
