Job Summary
Under limited supervision, p! erforms a variety of clerical and/or clinical functions associ! ated with patient care, registration, billing, scheduling, and maintenance of medical records.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of proper blood drawing techniques and injection techniques
Demonstrate accuracy in preparation and maintenance of charts
Ability to bend, lean forward or crouch, and sit for long periods of time; ability to use hands and wrists to perform repetitive motions when filing and typing on a key board; ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs
Must score 75% or higher on the Medical Assistant Certification Exam
Knowledge of or willing to learn eCare
Preferred
Certified Medical Assistant
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Certification program and/or graduate of a certified EMT program
6 months previous medical office experience
