Position Summary
The College of Southern Nevada seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor of Graphic Communications beginning Fall 2023. The Graphic Communications Program prepares students for a career in the design field by emphasizing client- and industry-based practices. The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses per semester in the following areas:

Graphic Design.
- Adobe Creative Suite
Additional related duties include academic advising, curriculum development, and service to the institution and community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or related field (must be obtained by time of appointment).
Preferred Qualifications

College-level teaching experience and/or a record of client-based, industry experience.

Teaching experience in a college setting.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Graphic Symbolism, Storyboarding, Digital Color Theory, Typography, Digital Imaging, Print Production, Conceptual Design, Media Design, Digital Illustration, Layout Design, Art Direction, Design Fundamentals, Learning Theories and Strategies, Typography Hierarchy, Image Manipulation, Design History, Design Theory and Methods, Advanced Photoshop, Interaction Communication Design, Broadcast Graphics, Interactive Communications Design, Instructional Design, Digital Prepress and Production Process, Multimedia Arts, Character Ideation, 3D Modeling, Game Design and Game Play, 3D Modeling Techniques.
Starting Salary Range
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a master's degree, the salary range would be $46,691 to $59,768 annually. The entire salary range is up to $71,123 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years of experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
